Our History

Le Camion Gourmand de Paris is a story a long time in the making. It started when I went to live and work in Paris back in 2010. I’ve always loved Parisian life, café society and lifestyle in arguably one of the most beautiful capital cities in the world. The art, the history, the culture and the great food offer so much to those who are lucky enough to dip their toe in.
At Le Camion Gourmand our raison d’être is to try and bring Parisian cafe life to our clients in the UK. We offer a Gourmet burger with fries plus a vegetarian gourmet burger and other Parisian favourites like tart au citron or Crème Brulé. We try our upmost to provide a unique dining experience using the finest quality ingredients for customers to enjoy.
My name is Charlie Woodcock, please join me on this journey of gastronomic discovery.

When I moved to Paris I first lived in the 16th arrondissement next to Place Du Trocadéro near the Tour Eiffel. After a couple of years I moved to the left (south) bank and the 7th arrondissement. The 7th arrondissement offers a rich mix of historical grandeur, cultural and modern luxury.
A very lovely district which Parisian families flock to. By now I was completely hooked on Paris life, the markets, the shops the hustle and bustle of City life, the boulangeries, I had my favourites, the architecture and of course the magnificent café society which is on every street corner throughout the capital. People watching is a national pastime. Sitting in one’s favourite cafe on an early summer evening watching the great and the good of Paris pass by under a milky sky. What could be better?
Food plays an integral part in French life from the classic croissant to the French baguette whose bakers vie for the chance to supply the Elise palace annually. There is no greater prize in French gastronomy than to lift that trophy once in a lifetime. Whether staying in with friends and family or eating out in the thousands of restaurants in Paris, food is woven into the very fabric of Parisian life like no other. Restaurants come in all shapes and sizes from the grand restaurants such as Le Train Bleu at Gare de Lyon to small family run bistros like Le Schaffer in the 16th which are the main stay of Parisian day to day life.
Hamburgers or gourmet burgers as they like to call them are a staple of French food and they are good. Gourmet burgers are eaten more than any other meal when on a restaurant’s menu.
In Paris there are lots of pedestrian areas and the 7th arrondissement is no exception. Rue Cler was just outside my apartment full of food shops, cafes and bars. No need to go any further to immerse oneself in Parisian life.
